I got around the steering box problem by moving the engine to the passenger=
side to clear the steering.I think it was moved about 1 inch just so the f=
uel pump was close to the frame. I havent run this truck yet so I hope this=
wasnt a mistake. Chrysler used to mount its slant 6 off center.BobMead, CO=

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 My situation is slightly different than yours, but what I did=
might=20
solve this problem for you.=C2=A0 If you are using the standard, later, mid=

motor mounts, then the hugger headers are quite likely to do the job for=20
you.=C2=A0 My son and I, put a small block 400 into a 47 International fram=
e,=20
which is very narrow and has a similar problem with the steering box.=C2=A0=
=20
The hugger headers worked quite well for this installation.
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 I have a 55 chev Cameo, with a 454, and solved this pr=
oblem by=20
cutting and re-welding the two back tubes on the LH header so it would=20
clear the steering box.=C2=A0 It took a little thinking, but I was able to=
=20
do this without changing the length of the header pipes. This allows me=20
to use the 1 3/4 inch full size headers in the truck.
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 I am almost certain that the hugger headers will work for you=
, but=20
there is the other option.
Bob
