Robert: Had new rear springs made by a local shop from existing samples -
these measure the same from ends to center on the truck assuming the centering
pin is in the center of the housing. Would have been a good fix otherwise. (
hope they got the spring load correct )

On my 54 I did this I used a 55T rear end used from 55-62 1/2ton truck
rear end, reveres the rear Leaf spring front to rear this will fix the
centering problem

movement of 2.5" to the rear to
center the wheel well. I have mine on jacks showing at least 2.5" that

weight.
Knowing I will have to move some would like to know of any proven
method. Plan on using stock shock
locations assuming extended angle would be ok?
