Subject: [oletrucks] Wanted: Narrow slot mags
Hello,
I am in a bit of a wheel predicament. I purchased 4 old "slot mag" style
rims from a swap meet a while back to put on my 55 chevy 1st series. The
wheels look great on the truck, however, since I have a Pacer IFS (which I
think widened the front axle a bit), and I cut the springs to lower it
(yes,
I know about the reasons not to do this etc. let's save that discussion
for
a different time), the front tires now rub significantly on the fenders
when
turning. So I am in need of some "skinny" front slot mags to match the
rears or at least some with a much different offset to bring the wheels
more
toward the inside of the fender. The current rims are a 15"x probably 6
or
7. I am open to the idea of 14's on front if I can find them.
Any ideas where I might be able to get my hands on some? I am not looking
to spend a ton of money. I only paid $80 for the 4 that I have, but
realize
that due to the rarity of the narrow fronts, I will probably end up
spending
more than $20 per rim for the fronts.
I've checked Ebay with little/no luck. Found one pair of old Ansen's that
would work on Ebay today, but they have 5 days left and are already at
$300
(ouch). Any ideas? Otherwise, any suggestions on a different style rim
that would look ok with my slot mag rears?
Thanks!
Dave
