Hi Gang,
Today, I proceeded to prime the engine prior to cranking it for the
first time after rebuild. I removed the distributor and spun the oil
pump and had between 50-60 pounds of pressure and then it went
to zero. When I looked in the distributor hole, I noticed that the shaft
had dropped down about 3/8 - 1/2 inch. Something must have broke.
Does anyone have a source for an oil pump kit or a complete assembly.
It is a 336 V8 which was built by Pontiac.
I plan on dropping the oil pan and removing the oil pump assembly on
Wednesday.
Thanks,
Jim V.
