Please respond directly to GremlinGTs@yahoo.com instead of this post. Hi, I
just wanted to check with this group to get any opinions, good or bad, about
the mid-'90's Chevy V-6 engine. My wife and I are looking at 2 different '94
Chevy G-10 utility vans, both have 4.3L V-6's with automatics. I was never
impressed with the mid-'80's V-6 engines of Chevy, but they were smaller, and
this
4.3L is an off-shoot of the 350 V-8, minus 2 cylinders. Want opinions on
reliability and maintenance issues on them, both vans have 80k + mileage on
them.
Wasn't sure how powerful the V-6 was for a work truck, so am wondering about
that, too.
So far, most web searches I've done have come up wonderful/good/etc, no
inherent problems with the V-6, but I'd like people who do or have owned them
to
give their perspectives, and what I should look for as weaknesses or normal
maintenance issues for the mileage the vans show. Thanks for any and all
replies,
