I was cruising the stores today, Friday, and ran across some interesting
models you Oletruckers might appreciate. First was a '55 or '56 Task Force
truck, about 1/24th scale, in the Dollar General stores in Virginia. It's got a
cable remote control box, the truck is black primer with flame job on the hood.
Only $3 for it.
Last thing I found was some new 1/18th scale vehicles at my local K. B.
Toys store at the mall, they have a manufacturer called Sun Star that is making
some different models. Ones on hand were '53 and '54 Chevy Bel Airs, a couple
of Checker Cabs in different paint schemes, and a '65 Chevy Stepside truck,
creme colored. Also had a '65 Ford truck, too. First time I'd seen these Sun
Star
diecast models. You can see them, too, at WWW.Sunstartoys.com. Another new (
to me ) maker was Welly, but they only had a few 1/18th's there. Don't
remember the models, either. Saw a few 1/18th AD trucks, one a tow truck in
beat-up
paint scheme, another a plain stepside. But I've posted that before, I forget
the maker name.
That was pretty much it for new stuff, everything else was "old". Happy
Holiday shopping!
