Have you thought about buying a 270 and boring it out to 302? I'm sure I
read somewhere that someone had done that, and I don't think 270's are that
hard to come by.
I know where one is near Portland that could probably be had for almost
nothing. I know of another in central Washington that is for sale, but my
impression is the guy actually wants to be paid for it.
They are out there.

I'll probably stick with a 292 six. I'd rather go with a strictly GMC
