I put 8 inch wide wheels on mine, and found that the front required reversed
wheels to allow sufficient tire clearance on the inside. When I put disk
brakes on the front the track width grew an inch or so, and wheels the same
size, but this a five-lug pattern, have worked fine.
If you visit my web site and follow the link to projects you'll find a
couple places where I discuss wheels and tires. You may not find everything
you want to know, but you'll leave knowing what I learned...

Subject: [oletrucks] Question on wheels/rims
Heya!
Question from the new guy. Both front and rear on my 1950 3100 are stock
5-1/2 inch six lug wheels. I'd like to throw some diffrent rims on the
truck, but how much leeway do I have on the stock hubs?
Thanks!
-Larry
