While a TF and not an AD, I regularly ran my Suburban up to 65-75mph on my
commute which
includes a stretch of interstate jokingly known locally as the Pellissippi
International
Speedway. The tired, original, never worked on 283 eventually gave out and
started the
still in progress restification. It did have new stock brakes, new truck
radials, and a
pretty tight stock suspension, but I always felt perfectly comfortable driving
it under
those circumstances. It's not my 86 Corvette, but neither is my wife's 97 Jeep
or my 86
pickup...in fact, I would compare the TF handling favorably to a new Jeep. You
just
adjust driving technique to compensate for vehicle characteristics.
