this is what ive found you need,, first you cant use the floor pedal for the
starter,, you will need a v-8 starter for std shift that will fit the bell
housing preferably one that fits TF trucks so you can use the cross member that
the housing mounts to.., you will need a v-8 ingnition switch that allows you
the extra start position, you will need to add a wire from the switch to the
solenoid on the starter, ,,the font mounts can be acheived in two ways if the
the motor has provisons for side mounts, you can obtain from a donor truck
which had a v-8 the motor mounts,you will have to cut the rivets off to get
them and then bolt them to your frame the holes should be ther allready,, the
other way if you 283 can use side mounts (58 cars and later) you can buy an
after market cross member that you can mount the mtor with form the side, You
will need a v-8 fly wheel the stock 6cylinder is differnt I think the cluch
will work Good luck,
