What do new diesels cost in the US?
Just curious because when you buy one in Canada you must sign a document
that states you will not resell it south of the border. My boss just
purchased a 2003 Dodge 1 ton Quad cab 4X4 with a Cummins Diesel, pretty much
loaded, but no leather. It cost him $51,000 Canadian, which is about $33,000
US.
He privately sold his 99 Dodge 3/4 ton extended cab, diesel, long box, 4X4,
with 60,000 miles for $30,000 Canadian or about $19,000 US.
Up here in Northern Canada we heat our houses with heating oil, which is
simply diesel without road tax. Gas is $1.00 a litre and heating oil is
$0.55 a litre so running a diesel can be cheaper.
I drive a Suburban, which Chev no longer puts diesels in, so I'm stuck
paying for gas.
