I think I would investigate using the IFS from a 3/4 ton '73 - '87 pickup.
The crossmember and suspension from a 1/2 ton is supposed to be an easy swap
to an AD 1/2 ton pickup...
I think someone on the list investigated and decided the stuff I'm
suggesting was too wide, but I don't recall exactly what they said.
