Interestingly enough, I have had a nice shiny new fuel cap from Chevy Duty
or some such place for about 2 years now (since I left the original one at
the gas station), without this happening. Of course, now the seal on the
fuel cap is broken, so it's probably venting just fine. And the cab
constantly smells of gasoline.
I will be tearing apart the fuel system; this is as good a time as any to
replace the fuel tank with one of those fuel cells that are only used for
a year and then sold.
