You might want to considerat the target speed.  For example, if you would
like to go 70 mph at the same rpm that you are currently going 55, the
formula:
    gear ratio =  (4.11 *  current speed) / desired speed
could be used as follows:

    gear ratio = (4.11 * 55) /70
                      =  226.05 / 70
                      =  3.229

So a 3.23 or thereabout would cause you (with no other changes) to travel at
70 mph at the same rpm as you currently achieve 55 mph.

Plug in different values to decide what gear to choose.  Hope this helps
