Thanks to all who offered suggestions for the exhaust manifolds.  There were
a number of good options presented and several who have had success with the
method they recommended.

Based on the thread (quick steering column question) I will be taking one
exhaust manifold off in order to remove the steering column and cab.  Sounds
like the time to remove and sand blast them both.
