All new GM vehicles come with Dexcool (the red/pink stuff). They started doing
this around 94/5 I believe. The only way to use it with a vehicle originally
using the green anti freeze is to completely flush the cooling system. Any
mixing of the two results in a gelling, which is obviously not good.

The new style antifreeze is reddish. While your truck isn't new, someone
might have replaced the antifreeze. It just depends if yours is reddish
like rust or reddish like strawberry Kool-Aid. On my new truck, if you
replace the antifreeze with the green stuff you void the warranty!
