I just pulled apart an 85 Monte Carlo with a stock v8. The drivers side
manifold was >'s back straight down exit, and would appear to clear the
moved over stock steering.
Wouldn't the "Ram horns" mid 60 vette cast iron center dump manifolds work?

Subject: [oletrucks] Which headers will fit?
Thanks to all who have passed on information about Sanderson
and Heddman headers which look like they will fit. Before I go this route
however I thought that I would ask some of you veteran rodders out there who
might know if there are stock exhaust manifolds out there for the SBC that
are tight to the heads and which exit out to the rear??
I have a '51 GMC with the stock steering box moved over
about an inch and a half. This gives me about 2 1/2 inches between the
heads and the steering box.
I like to scrounge at the junk yard but it would be great to
get a headstart on what models or years to look for.
Thanks for your help.
