Hi, Marilyn (A.K.A. Jeff McCoy)
Don't feel you must stop your replies to the list because 1 crybaby makes a
little
noise! People have advertised stuff for sale on this list for YEARS, with
little or
no hassle at all. The ebay stuff was a pain after a while, and I'm glad to see
the
occurrence of it reduced to almost nothing, but your type of 'ad' is not
offensive
to me. I think it's nice to have company reps online with us, and the fact
that
you DO have the things in your inventory to help some of us, and that you give
us a link to your goods in replies to messages looking for help, is
commendable.
I have followed your links, and found your site to have potential. Tim has his
opinion, but he's just one of the voices on this list. I've been on this list
for a
bunch of years, and I've read every post made to it. Yours is hardly
offensive.
As Tim says, this is not the place for advertisements. However, we all
advertise
our truck-related things we have for sale on this list. If what you're posting
is
useless information to Tim, he should just delete it.
What I find annoying more than ANYthing on this list is the stupid,
un-truck-related GARBAGE that some people put as a tag line at the end of
their posts... like this:

Tim Lloyd, lloyd@lasp.colorado.edu
"There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a
sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road.
But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still
get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be
perplexed, though you still get the same soaking. This understanding
extends to everything." -Yamamoto Tsunetomo

WHO CARES!!!!

Now, to keep with the rules and include a truck topic in each post; I need a 6
cyl engine to put into my '55-2nd. I still live in southern Connecticut, and
want something that'll bolt right in to my truck with no mods. It was a
235/3sp, and I still have the 3speed, but NOT the original 235. It went to a
machine shop years ago (1987) and the shop went out of business and took my
engine with them. Does anyone close by have something I may be able to buy
from them (on the cheap side???). This truck must be made to run again, or I
will have to part it out.
Thanks
Tom Volpe

This is really unacceptable. I got a similar response to my request for
replacement window parts. Miq (or whoever's running the list), could you
drop this guy bowtiebits@msn.com from the list, or at least ask him to
  stop?

And if there is a "Jeff McCoy" subscribed to the list who keeps responding
to parts requests with this boilerplate advertisement, STOP! This is not
  the place for ads!

  Thanks.
