well the Rearend I was trying too Identify is out of a 74 Wagoneer or
cherokee. it fits a 6 bolt chevy wheel and has other ratios readily available
so anybody looking for a higher gear ratio and open driveline might be
interested my only concern at this point is that the pumpkin is offset is
this going to be a problem or do I need a carrier two piece driveline to keep
from premature ujoint wear or? the local wrecking yard just punched the the
#'s off the tag into there computer to ID it it's a dana 44 . the guy at the
chvy dealership said Chevy used these behind some of the big block trucks in
the mid 70's so it should be plenty stought for V8 applications as well .
might be able to find another housing with a centered pumpkin and swap out the
gears as well anybody ever done this?
Thanks again for all the help and hope this benifits somebody
