Thanks John. I planned on taking photos of whatever I take apart. I'm a
retired industrial photographer, and helped document the construction of the
Central AZ. Project: 16 pumping plants, 1 earthen dam, and 336 miles of
concrete lined canal. One thing we did was record where all the buried pipes,
electrical lines, and other services were in relation to obvious landmarks.
"As built" drawings were often not fully updated. A couple of other people
mentioned putting parts in a ziplock bag, but your suggestion of subdividing
the bags and keeping them in associated groups sounds like a winner. Bob K in
