First replace the signal flasher "the internal points could have stuck
closed".
Next and this may sound weird, but make sure the hazard button is not pushed
in. I had a weird problem on my Dad 67 El Camino and it was due to the
broken hazard button on the column being half way on.
You may have a ground problem in the rear taillights. I'd remove the bulb
and clean the socket before replacing the bulb. Be sure the bulb is fully
rotated and seated in the socket. I think you have 1157 out back.
