Took the day off from work Friday, and went looking for treasures. Saw a
nice orange and black '40 GMC panel truck, the script on the hood said " GM
Truck Company", I think. Probably before GM made it a regular division of
itself? Anyway, wasn't fully restored, but it was nice, I got a picture of
it. Saw a few other TF's, but was looking mostly for AMC Gremlin literature,
Javelin, etc. Found several books on the Chevy Spicer 5-speed trans, and the
other one, forgot the name ( New Age?), but it gave some nice breakdown pics
of overhauling them for the big trucks. They're factory info-books on the
"new" items on the trucks. I have a Spicer 5-speed out of a 1.5 ton '55 GMC,
I'd like to get $400 for it, it needs some work, I think. Anyone interested,
let me know, I'm in Virginia, northern, Woodbridge/Occoquan area.
Thats about it for vintage TF tin, didn't see too much at the flea, darn
it. Oh well, maybe Truck Carlisle. Time for bed, yawn! g'nite,
Jerry
