I was resonding to the question about a 1 ton. Art Houser sent me a 3.90
ring and pinion that wouldn't fit on my 1 ton 1950. So, after some
negoiation, I got from Art a 3/4 ton rear end with 3.90, which appears to
fit. Unfortunately it's still sitting on the shop floor as my son wanted to
insulate and finish the barn so he has a shop he can call his own and we
have been working on that since before Christmas. All I can tell you is
that it looks and measures like it will fit. As soon as I get it installed
I'll report back.

My 49 Chevy One/Ton dually runs 18 inch tires and I would be interested in a
better ratio also. I do not know what I have but at 65 on the Interstate It
is
pretty well wound up. I have plenty of power at the bottom so would be
interested in a better rear end ratio.
Where is Art Housers located?
