Yeah, its ironic alright, yet on this particular truck I am making some very
unconventional mods. I want this to be a good daily driver utility truck.
(this is not my frame up restoration project truck). As Mike mentioned, the
pedestal is a support and would need to be re-inforced. I figure two metal
drawers with ball bearing slideouts and a locking mechanism to hold them
shut while driving. The re-inforcement could be 3/16 steel the size of the
front of the pedestal with the drawer holes cut out welded behind the
original pedestal and maybe an angle iron vertical support or two. If I do
it, I will draw out the plans and take good pictures and post it on my web
site. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I was at Chevy Duty today and asked to look over that sliding rear window
they sell for AD trucks. I was very very impressed with the quality of it.
Its not some flimsy thing at all and is well made with tinted panes. For the
$79.95 they want, its well worth it. I thought I would pass it on.
