Howdy,
Ever since August I've been trying to figure out neutral safety
switches. I have a 1979 350 transmission. It originally had a column
shifter. The floor shifter that I got from the Junkyard came out of a
poorly restored 1954. It has no wires or electrical looking components.
I'm on my fourth switch from Napa and Advance Auto parts. The kind that
screws into the tranny won't work because I have no place to screw it into.
The latest is the guy telling me that a column switch might fit my shifter.
These switches have been about 10 bucks. I saw one in Ron Francis that was
$48. What is the difference? What do I need? I also saw in Ron Francis
that they have a switch with a ball in it that you can put so that it
touches the linkage. Anybody ever used this kind? Thanks.
Quick update on the S-10 frame swap. Got the cab mounted, bed will be
soon. I got the power brakes working and stopped in the Driveway yesterday
(I minor accomplishment for someone who doesn't own an old truck).
