Hi...
Since I've been tinkering with my Suburban project
lately, one of my sons, Gary has been hanging out in
the garage with me a lot. He's nine years old.
Gary is getting to know a lot about how trucks work,
as I usually explain to him what it is I'm working
on. He also asks a lot of questions.
I was thinking about all the old truck parts I have,
and how I can build another truck from them...but
that I don't really need another truck. So, I got
the idea of giving all the parts to Gary and letting
him build a truck. I asked him if he wanted to, and
he said "sure!" Next he said, "where do I start?"
So, Gary's been scraping the grease and gunk off the
frame that's under my Suburban body (I'm building
another chassis for it). Today we worked on putting
a steering gearbox together, although we had to take
it apart again because we don't have the new
bushings for it yet. We did make the new gaskets,
though.
This is fun!
