I have a 46 AD (Art Deco - we were out there first - ya know).
The only wiper sits above the windshield - in from of the drivers head with
the motor access covered by a faceplate on inside the cab. The correct
vacuum connection runs a hose from the motor to a medal hose that runs down
inside the left front of the cab - I can not remember what this post
position is called. Then to a hose - to a medal pipe through the firewall -
then with a hose to the carb for the suck.
I can not get to the starting point to connect the hose without
disassembling a lot of the cab - if at all. I can not find any information
on how to re-connect this hose. I see the medal pipe start at the bottom of
the post down close to the light switch. I am guessing that this runs up
close to the wiper motor but I have now way of telling.
About 6 months ago I asked if anyone has a way to re-connect the wiper hose
in front of the headliner without tearing the cab apart. Well I (we) never
worked out a way to do this.
Currently to work the wiper I have the hose connected on the inside wall of
the cab duct taped to the cab. It goes into the wiper with the cover plate
removed and the wiper works. I now have some time and am thinking it would
be better to run this hose inside the wall where it belongs.
HELP - anyone with an idea that will not involve me taking the top of the
cab apart....
Thanks,
Jim House
