I am trying to put 1955 1st series doors on a 1950. I want the vent windows
and the push button. Its already been said that the striker plates are
different. Is the cab different too? I went to the salvage yard and got
striker plates from a later model and they are different than the ones I
have. The 1950 ones wrap around the side of the cab and two rubber bumpers
are in the edge. The ones I got from the salvage yard do not wrap around (so
the holes arent covered) and they stand away from the cab about 1/8" more.
It appears as tho once I get them mounted, the door wont close at all
because I have effectively reduced the door opening by 1/8". Then to top it
off, the recessed screws that were standard on the 50 arent long enough nor
the right head to bolt it up.
Anyone ever done this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
