Subject: | [oletrucks] 1958 235 into a 1951 Chevy 1/2-ton |

I bought a newly rebuilt 1958 235 complete with a Powerglide transmission online. For $1000 I figured I would take a chance and I hope that it would fit easily into my 1951 Chevy 1/2-ton pickup. Can anyone who has done a similar swap tell me what is involved? Does the driveaxle need to be shortened? Does a crossmember need to be moved or installed? Will a firewall modification be necessary? What is involved with rerouting the shifter linkage? What else should I be considering? oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959 |
