Hi Tom,
Sounds like it could be a loose ground cable or strap. Clean and
re-tighten them, especially the ground strap at the frame. My car is doing
the same thing right now, and I know it's a loose ground cable. I just
haven't taken the time to tighten it. I push it off to start also, but it
doesn't fail that often, so I forget.
