list,
when i had my truck for only a year, and it was faded chipped amature brown,
with original sea foam green, red, gray, and black primer spots, and a lota
surface rust, as well as a compleatly rusted through cab corner, rotted
particle board bed floor, a engine of multi colors and broken side window
glass, i still showed it. not becuase i wanted or expected to win anything,
but becuase i had/have pride in my ole truck and wanted to show it off. even
now, i still show it. its all primer gray and most of the body work has been
done, the grill and bumper and headlight bezels are gloss black (they were
white) though the inside of the bed is gettin pretty bad with surface rust
and paint over spray, and the plywood floor is splitting and has paint (i
paint parts in the bed) still with a broken window, and a seat cover and
carpet and new paint on the interior, re painted and sealed engine, and the
list goes on, and on, and on, but i still dont expect to win, in any class,
(though i have gotten recignition in the project and daily driver classes,
and one 3rd place)
for some, the awards might be the only reason theyre into this hobby, for
others, and probably the majority, its the fun, pride, and friendships that
give this wallet killing, knuckle breaking hobby fun.
besides, anyone can show off a trophy, (ie, people who dont work on their
trailer queens), but how many people can show off a truck they rebuilt with
their own two hands?
just my 2 cents (or maybe, 2 dollars with this length)
