Hey Charlie,
Fix-A-Guage only works on ' 68 and later guages. I've used them for years
now on Chevy trucks from the '80s and 90's. The "kit" is actually nothing
more than a resistor with a fork terminal crimped onto each lead. To
install, you remove the guage, remove the ceramic insulator on the back of
the guage, turn the insulator over so that the painted side is facing the
back of the guage, reinstall the nuts that hold the insulator with the one
of the resistor's leads under each nut and reinstall the guage. These kits
are mader here locally and the auto electric shops have been using them for
years. I have them on the temp and gas guages in my '82 C10 right now. At
$4.00 each, locally, you can't go wrong.
