Guys I have problem and need your thoughts. I installed a Chevy V-8 (305)
with a turbo 350 tranny in my 56 Chevy truck. After almost three years of
work I finally drove it for the first time yesterday. Everything worked
great except one problem.
When the tranny changes into third gear I start getting a fairly load
knocking noise. It kinda sounds like a ball-pin hammer knocking on the
tranny bell housing just below the accelerator pedal. It only does this in
third gear.
I checked the fly wheel for cracks etc. I check to ensure the flywheel was
snug to the convertor. I don't know what else to do.
I would appreciate any thoughts/ideas.
Thanks.
Mike
