Paul,
When I built my '48, I used the tilt column from a full size Pontiac. I
used the pivot bar from the same car. I had to drill a hole in the frame,
and had to narrow the bar to fit, but it was a very simple install. 20,000
miles later and no problems at all. Best part was the price...free!
