Close, but not quite. If you look at historical photographs for these cars,
the flower car's purpose (Cadillac mostly, but other manufacturers too) was
to haul the casket and flowers on display in a slow funeral procession to a
cemetery or mausoleum. Imagine an ornate casket with flowers hanging all
over it and draping down the sides of the car driving slowly in precession.
These were especially popular in the mob days of gone by (er, well, you know
what I mean), with popularity waning in the 60s. I understand Cadillac
still makes these, but very few for domestic use. Some models are
particularly rare and can easily sell for 6 figures to foreign buyers.
These cars are very popular over seas, particularly Asian countries, as old
fashioned funeral precessions are still very much part of the culture.

That's exactly what it was. It had a sign on the dash board that said
Flower Car.
