Rob asked:
Whats this that i hear about an ole truck discount at Jim Carter's? How much
of a dicount is it? (I dont mean to sound greedy)
A year or so ago we had a big thread on this list about vendors and one
of our intrepid listees, I have forgotten who (shame on me), volunteered to
contact some of the venders and beg for an oletruck discount. This Hero of
Oletruckdom came away with a very generous offer from Jim Carter Antique
Truck Parts, (800) 872-1913. Carter asks nothing in return, merely that we
mention the oletruck list when placing the order.
One of our brother oletruckers, Kelly <truckexprt@aol.com> can take your
order by phone, FAX, or email and will shepherd it through to the shipping
stage. I did not recall the amount of the discount, but the trusty desk
calculator indicates it amounts to 5%. That is enough to offset shipping
charges, or sweeten a deal you were going to place anyway.
