Someone asked about putting a 4:11 rear end in their 50 3600. I just did
this. My understanding is that any front loading 3/4 or 1 ton rear end
from 1950-72 will work. You just have to have the sort of third member
that pulls in its entirety from the front. It should be set up according
to the shop manual on the bench before you install it. Mine for my 1950
3600 came from a 3/4 ton 69-72 van or truck. Just make sure you have the
removable "pig" or third member. Then, just follow the directions in the
shop manual. Took about 3 hours the first time.
