This is for Bob According to the book the best oil for a 261 babbit pounder in moderate temperatures is straight 30 weight. I personally use Penzoil and am quite pleased with the performance. I have used various oils and grades from 20w20 to 20w50 including 10w30 and 10w40 but have experienced the best performance with the book recomended straight 30W Hope this helps. Keep on truckin Mac 52 Chev 1300 with the 216 oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959 |
