I have yet to order one, but Heavy Chevy has an adapter that includes
a dual cylinder (Corvette if I remember right) NON-power master
cylinder in the stock location using stock pedal from 55.2 thru 59.
I just checked http://www.heavychevy.com/html/brakes.html
and found "Dual Master Cylinder & Bracket (uses original brake pedal)
for Standard Transmissions 47 - 59 $185.50"
which sounds reasonable to me as it includes the cylinder.
Maybe David will respond to this message with additional info.

Wish I could be one of the people with all the answers, but I guess for
now I'm stuck with asking the questions. I give up trying to rebuild the
master cylinder in my 57 3/4 ton. It's been honed once too often. I think
I'll be safer replacing it with a dual cylinder. My question is, does
anyone know an economical way to make an adapter to use the original pedal
assy with a modern manual master cylinder? The adapter kits in the
catalogs look fairly simple. Has anyone done this with success, or should I
just go ahead and buy the adapter?
