I believe the fasteners that you are referring to are small screws (clutch
head type, if original). The channel gets lined with a thin adhesive (2
sided, I think) tape; talk to an older glass shop that may have had some
experience with these to find out for sure. I took mine to a 73 year old
glass shop man that knew just what to do.
