Rick when I did the master cylinder on my 58 GMC I removed the pivot pin and the bolt from the piston and left the pedal arm the truck. Youn might have to drive it with a drift but at least there is enough room to swing a hammer. And then you can clean up the pivot pin so it slides back in easly on reassembly.
