I spoke with a guy today that has two trucks for sale, a 1950 3/4 ton in
top shape ($10,500, he's getting ready to put a rebuilt 235 in it) and a
1953 1 ton. The '50 is very sharp, painted a dark bronze color. I
didn;t stop to look at it as I figured it was out of my price range! He
wants $300 for the 1 ton....the body is in really good shape, it has a
clock in the dash, no motor or trans (he pulled it out, overhauled it
and put it in the '50) but there may be one he would include for the
price. He says it soes have new brakes. If anyone is interested, let
me know (these trucks are located in Buffalo MO, just 30 miles north of
Springfield off 1-44) and I can get you his phone number.
I've seen the 1950 truck before. The guy runs the local glass shop and
he sits it on the main street with a big sign in the back pointing
towards his shop. Today is the first time I've seen it with a For Sale
sign, so I had to ask. While I was there, I asked about cutting glass
for the windows on our 1954. Seems he can save me shipping costs, but
otherwise cost is about the same as catalog. The good thing is he
already has windows to make the patterns from. Anyway, ket me know if
