Thanks for the info folks.
The guy at work went to get a closer look at the prospective buy and found
a significant amount of R-U-S-T on the corners of the cab and floorboards.
Also, the front part of the frame was slightly tweeked (wrecked).
He biz-bagged the buy and is continuing his search.

One of the guys at work got tired of seeing me with my TF and is ready to
purchase a '48 AD stocker with a 266. He says all the parts are there and
are intact. There is rust along the floorboards (undisclosed amount), but
rest of cab and bed are sound. It is completely original inside and out.
The asking is $2,500. Does this seem like a fair price? I kinda thought
it was about $500-$700 too high.
