Hi NOBBC Friends,

The clutch on my 79 Spitfire won't disengage, and I'd appreciate
troubleshooting tips.

I recently replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing, it all
worked fine. Then the engine blew, and this last weekend my mechanic friend
Nick put in an engine from another 1500. The flywheel etc from the donor car
looked fine. Today he also rebuilt the clutch master cylinder, checked the
slave, and bled the system; there's plenty of fluid pressure. Everything
works as advertised, but the clutch is still not disengaging fully, even
with all the adjustments at maximum. Something's sticking, and for the life
of us we can't figure out what.

Informed opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Dawson
