I do the same thing on Lackville Highway, especially at the big sweeping
curves at Stage Gultch. You are right...there must be something in the air.

Well hell, I''l chime in here. I got ticketed once in Petaluma for no seat
belt. I had just stopped to get a burger, took my belt off to get some money
out of my pocket, paid the bill and off I went, without even thinking about
the belt. I passed a CHP cruiser heading up the street, and he actually
turned around and chased me down and pulled me over, because he didn't see a
belt on my shoulder. He let me go with a warning, but there a lot older cars
out there that only have lap belts. wonder what they do about that.
Then one race day many moons ago, I was headed out to Sears Point with two
kids in the car going to the Craftsman Truck Race. We were real late, had to
wait for one of the kids, headed down 116, doing 80 in my Camaro, when I
passed a slowpoke at a T intersection, and of course, there was a CHP
cruiser parked right there. I saw him pull out in the rear view mirror, I
knew I was toast so I pulled over and waited for him. License and
registration please, and do you know how fast you were going? Do you know
that you passed a car at a T intersection?, somewhat agitated. Then he asked
where I was headed at that speed. Well, actually, we're going to the races.
He was actually pretty decent about the whole thing, handed me the ticket
$250.00, and said well, slow down, enjoy the races and this. My bad, a
stupid thing to do, but I still seem to find myself doing 80 or 90 down that
road all the time, must be something in the air down there.
