Michael is correct...this event is one of the best around. It is a
photographer's and vintage car enthusiasts dream because you have free
access to the pits. It would be great to have a corral for the LBCs of
the NOBBCC or any marquee that can muster enough cars.

Hello All,

This is in response to Tim's ticket offer for the Wine Country
Classic,
now the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival at Infineon Raceway. I
tried to
make this offer last year and got little interest, but in making more
rides
and the tech session of late, there seems to be more interest and
participation from some of you now, and therefore a chance to put
something
together for our club this year. I hope the attachment goes through to
the
server, but on the Friday of the event, 6-5-10?, there will be a car
caravan
that leaves from the track, goes to Sonoma and the Land Mark Winery for
lunch,
tasting and tour, a slow ride along the back rodes back to the track for
activities that include laps and photos of you in your car on the track.
Cost
is $50, and if we can get some committments for the weekend, we could
have
space set aside for a car corral for the club, but we would need to act
quickly to get a paved space, for one day or the weekend. Along with
Tim's
ticket offer, this could be a really fun weekend for all. As a long term
season ticket holder and 'Friend of The Track', I attend all of the
season
events, Nascar, IRL, etc. but this event is always my favorite, as there
are
so many beautiful old cars, all types, all makes, and you have total
access to
the owners and drivers who are more than happy to talk to you at length
about
cars, parts, services everything a car buff could want in one place. Try
that
with Nascar, or try to talk shop with Danica Patrick (Ha Ha).This is
truly one
of the best events the track has, and offers us the opportunity to look,
listen, learn, and ENJOY. Give it some thought, let's see what we can
put
together as a club. I will be happy to work with Mike D'Addario on
corral
space if we have sufficient interest.

Yes, the more the better. This year we will leave the track on Friday
5/4
approx 10:30am drive out to Kenwood, make a pit stop half way, continue
on to
Landmark Vineyard where we have a BBQ Lunch, take a tour of the winery,
bench
race a bit, then head back to track where we will watch some practice of
the
Vintage Cars and then about 5:00 take a few laps around the track &
photo op.

Hi Mike,

Is there going to be a car caravan / luncheon to the wine country again
this
year, and should I invite the members of my british car club? Details?
