In the early 70's I bought a roll of around 15 of these posters from a kid
around the block that was a couple of years older than me (I was 11 or 12) for
$5.00. I thought they were very cool and had them thumb tacked all over the
walls and ceiling of my bedroom. At some point in high school I took the
posters down, rolled them up again, and put them in the closet after deciding
against throwing them away. I am happy to say they are with me to this day
and I have a number of them framed and hanging in my office. If only I
had held on to my Batman 3-D comic book and matching 3-D glasses!

What we seem to be speaking of is the collector bug...I think it drives us to
drive our vintage cars and collect automobilia stuff. I say hoorah...the
sixties were the best and worst of times. I still have a dozen of the
handbills that I tacked to my walls in my room...in my room (Beach Boys).

Hi guys, once in awhile I run across an old guy ( OK, younger than me) who
said, when he was in high school, put up Posters in businesses and gave out
small hand bills for us, that were reduced full size posters. Mostly in
Sonoma county in the late 60s . I wish I had kept most anything from back
then, instead I now look in antique stores for what I had given away. I did
find a working hula girl lamp that was an original like my father's from
1941. I had given his away 32 years ago at the prompting of my mother and
my
wife.

Mike,
An original Beatles poster from candlestick in good condition would bring at
least $12,000.00
since you asked.

Surprising!
That so many of us from that era turned out as we have, and so many of us
have these (wonderful?) british cars to love, drive and maintain.Hummmm.
When I was 14 and a freshman in high school, I became a weekend regular at
the the Filmore, Filmore West, Winterland, Avalon Ballroom, all of the
concerts in the park and other places.
I had hundreds of those posters, full sized, the 5" X 8" ones, my buddies
and I were on a first name basis with Bill Graham, (Nice Guy). Who knew that
all that stuff would be worth anything now. After seeing what Tom got for
his Beatle album, it makes wonder how much my posters, or my ticket stub
form the Beatles concert at Candlestick would be worth now. And this from a
lad who at the age of 19 (1969 waitng to be drafted and sent to Nam) was
offered a working cattle ranch on the hills above what is now Silicon Valley
FOR FREE. So much for missed opportunities. I offer this example of values
from then to now. My dad sold his 1964 aluminum bodied Ferrari 250 Short
Wheel Based Coupe in 1968 for $6800. That car could sell at auction now for
as much as $5000000.00 (that's 5 million), as has happened at auctions on
ESPN. Let me see now, a couple thousand acres of ranch land, convertedn to
housing or maybe vineyard property, Who Knew? I guess it dosen't pay to look
back
