Well said, Andy. I did note that one can elect not to be judged in any event,
and the price also includes a Continental breakfast, plus lunch, and various
sheltering amenities it sounds like. I shall take your points under advisement
and mull. I definitely am dying to see that coupe!

d'Elegance May 17th 2009]
Hi Everyone, I've read all the responses so far and there seems to be a
consensus to not participate in this show. I've read the rules and there
are lots of different classes. We can't compete with the Duisenberg's or 12
cylinder Ferraris but we wouldn't have to. All of our cars would be in the
import classes either pre 1960 or after 1960 and under $5000. This would be
mainly British/European sports cars that we all own. One of the main
objectives of our club is to be more visible with our cars and try and
encourage younger people to get into the hobby. The Marin County Fair is a
great and popular event and extremely well attended. Even if there were just
a few British cars in the show it would be a step in the right direction.
Many of our cars are in great condition and look good. I don't think they
need to be perfect and completely original, read the entry rules. There
will only be concours judges for the individual marques, but not for our
type of cars. I am considering entering my MGA Coupe providing I get it
finished in time and would encourage all of you to reconsider, especially
Greg in his Lotus, and maybe the Alfa will be finished by then, John in his
TR and Norm in his XK 140. We need to get our hobby with our lower priced
cars out there for others to appreciate and realize that they too can buy
cars like ours and start enjoying them.

I received the following and thought some of you might be interested.
The entry fee seems a little steep though.
