66 4/4 SV Comp intake manifold

I am restoring a 66 4/4 SerV Comp. with 1500GT engine with a Weber carb.  As I
was
cleaning the intake manifold I noticed a 1/8 inch hole on the underside of the
manifold
under the Weber carb.  Does anyone know what this hole is for?  Should it be
pluged?
