The keyed washer next to the right front wheel bearing on my '71 +8 has worn a groove around the stub axle, and I think rotates all the time. Replacing with a new washer from the factory hasn't helped, as the dimple isn't deep enough to seat properly. Enlarging the dimple with a dab of weld, and filing to fit also didn't work. It has been like this for years, with no apparent harm. Should I worry, and if so, what to do? Dave Collins, San Diego |
